A former security guard who was hit by a car has won compensation for her injuries with the help of Beecham Peacock.

Elisabeth Donaldson, who worked at Tesco in Gateshead, was accompanying her husband to a hospital appointment at the RVI in Newcastle when the accident happened. They were walking back to their car, which was parked in a nearby carpark, when another vehicle approached them on the wrong side of the road, hitting Mrs Donaldson and knocking her to the ground.

She suffered fractures to her knee and wrist, and had to have two operations. Unfortunately, mobility problems arising from the accident meant she was never able to return to the job she loved.

Mrs Donaldson said: “It was very difficult to accept that I would no longer be able to work in security, which I had really enjoyed. However, I’m now looking on it as an opportunity to try something new, and I hope to re-train and work for the NHS in some capacity.”

Having been referred to Beecham Peacock by her union, Usdaw, Mrs Donaldson’s case was taken on by Ann Seery who was able to win compensation on her behalf.

Mrs Donaldson added: “The service I received from Ann, and everyone else I dealt with at Beecham Peacock, was absolutely fantastic. http://www.beechampeacock.co.uk/former-security-guard-wins-compensation/ http://www.beechampeacock.co.uk/former-security-guard-wins-compensation/Ann worked tirelessly to resolve my case and she did a brilliant job. I’m so pleased that the claim has been settled, and my family and I can now start to look forward to the future.”
