A factory worker who was knocked unconscious when a tray fell onto his head has won compensation for his injuries with the help of Beecham Peacock.
Raymond O’Donnell, who worked at the Malton Bacon Factory in North Yorkshire, was helping a colleague to pull a pallet of trays up a ramp. The trays had not been properly stacked, and several of them fell from the pallet, striking Mr O’Donnell on the head and knocking him unconscious.
Mr O’Donnell was taken to hospital, where he was told he had suffered injuries to his head and neck. Following treatment his trade union, Usdaw, referred him to Beecham Peacock solicitors, who successfully brought a negligence claim against his employer.
Mr O’Donnell said: “The service has been 100% all the way through. From the first day when I spoke to my union rep, to the day that my settlement cheque came through, it couldn’t have gone better.
“The money has been really helpful. However, it’s not just the money that’s important – it feels so good to have everything sorted, and to be able to put all that happened behind me.”
