Beecham Peacock are pleased to announce our success in the Northern Law Awards 2016, where our Senior Partner, Kirsten Scott received the Outstanding Achievement Award for her expertise in dealing with personal injury claims.

The awards ceremony, held on Thursday 23rd June also recognised Beecham Peacock as leaders in the Family Law, Crime, Personal Injury, Law Firm of the Year and Solicitor of the Year categories, acknowledgements which give us “a regional reputation as the ‘go to’ solicitor for serious accident at work and disease cases” as stated in the Legal 500.

Hosted by BBC Radio Newcastle presenter Alfie Joey, the black-tie event took place at the new Crowne Plaza in Newcastle, bringing over 300 people together from some of the region’s legal firms and institutions in a celebration of individual and team success.

Award winner Kirsten Scott joined Beecham Peacock in 1993 after qualifying in 1985 and heading to London where she was appointed as a partner in city firm Hodge Jones and Allen at the age of 26.

She then moved “home” to Newcastle where she was mentored by Lord Jeremy Beecham and went on to become an accomplished Personal Injury lawyer running a caseload of high-value complex claims on behalf of clients affected by a range of life changing conditions and injuries.

Her litigation skills have excelled and she has successfully recovered significant compensation for victims of asbestos related disease and those suffering brain injuries as a result of accidents.

Kirsten has been described in the 2015 Legal 500 as the “champion of accident victims” and was identified as one of only four leading individuals for claimant personal injury work in the North region.

She also sits on several regional committees for asbestos and brain injury organisations and has had a long association with trade unions, believing strongly in social justice, a passion that has fed into her career ensuring her cases are dealt with tactfully and sensitively, with a high degree of efficiency, expertise and legal skill that makes her a great lawyer.

Lord Jeremy Beecham was welcomed to the stage at the awards to say a few words about Kirsten before she accepted the award which is thoroughly deserved and a credit to the expertise and contribution she has brought, not only to Beecham Peacock but the legal sector as a whole.

She is delighted and honoured to have received the outstanding achievement award, thanking the support of many over the years.
