MR G  had a life threatening accident at work when he was called out to an emergency repair of a metro train which had broken down on the rails outside of Brockley Whinns Metro Station in Newcastle.

He was instructed to climb onto the roof and cut through a pantograph. Unfortunately he was dragged off the roof of the train, falling a significant distance, while carrying out this task causing significant injuries to his back and spine which eventually lead to him being medically retired from work.

Liability was disputed throughout by the Defendants. Mr G with support from Vicki Wanless his solicitor successfully went on to recover a substantial damages award to allow him to move forward with his life after losing his job which he had loved and didn’t want to lose.  With the support of Beecham Peacock  he was able to access medical treatment such as counselling and psychotherapy which was  provided on a private basis.

The matter settled after Court proceedings were issued  for a six figure sum.

Mr G  stated that “whilst he was still disappointed that he was no longer able to continue at work he now had financial security for the future. He would like to thank Beecham Peacock  for support and guidance at this difficult and stressful time”.
